Come and participate in some Kingston community artistic creation.  The Kingston Recreation Department is refreshing the mural at the Captain Fred L. Bailey Playground.  The new mural theme is "The World At Play- Through Nature". There will be eight different habitats, including rainforest, freshwater, grasslands, desert, mountains, temperate forest, the ocean, and the arctic.  These habitats will have various organisms playing and interacting in the scenes,  Each scene will transition seamlessly into the next habitat.  With each scene there will be plants, animals, and landforms interacting with one another.  This realistic world will have interactive elements such as "designing your own animal", "I spy games", and "touch the texture" areas.  The mural was created and program coordinated by Melissa Kowal. She is our artist in residence working with the Recreation Department.  She is a former elementary and high school teacher and owner of Beeble Art Center. As space is limited, this program is limited to Kingston Residents only.  If space is available we will open it up to non-residents.  All ages welcome.  Young children must be accompanied by a registered adult. This program is sponsored in part by funds from the Elizabeth B. Sampson Memorial Fund. Thank you Town of Kingston residents, for voting in support of this program/event at our Town Meeting.
