Sailing - 13 - 17 year olds 420 Beginner with DBMS
The Kingston Recreation Department is collaborating with Duxbury Bay Maritime School to offer several different sailing programs this summer. Registration closes when full or until April 17th.
There are only 2 spots available for each week listed. All weeks are Tidal Schedule - which means the class times will vary daily. Click on the Date/Time for specific times for each week.
420 Beginner: 2 week beginner for 13-17 year olds Prerequisites: Competent Swimmer / Sailor must weigh at least 105 lbs
Learn the basics of boating safety, nomenclature, rigging, sail handling and steering in a two person boat. Sailors in 420s and FJs should weigh a minimum of 105lbs. Sailors may sail 420s or FJs exclusively or both boats depending on what the program and instructors decide. Sailors that have successfully completed Opti LTR or Opti Racer and received a recommendation to advance should be taking 420 Transitional Racing instead of this class. Sailing programs meet rain or shine. Please dress accordingly.
The Kingston Yacht Club has donated 10% for each first time participant registration, toward this partnered Sailing Program with the Duxbury Bay Maritime School. The fee listed below already is indicative of the one time 10% reduction plus a 10% one time discount from the Duxbury Bay Maritime School.
The Kingston Yacht Club is also donating an additional 20% discount to all Kingston Yacht Club members. KYC member will pay the amount listed and then bring their receipt to the KYC for their additional 20% discount to be paid by the Kingston Yacht Club.
